Liverpool Will Break The British Transfer Record, Buy Brighton Players For IDR 2.2 Trillion

JAKARTA Liverpool giants have agreed to bring in Moises Caicedo and Brighton and Hove Albion. The player's transfer fee broke the record for most expensive transfers in England.

British media outlet BBC reported that the Reds will spend 111 million to get the Ecuadorian international midfielder.

"I was told that I could confirm the deal with [Brighton] has been agreed," Liverpool coach told BBC Sport.

Before Liverpool agreed to the above fees, Brighton had already rejected a series of offers from Chelsea.

The agreed fee for Caicedo exceeds 107 million paid by Chelsea for Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez earlier this year.

Brighton actually deliberately set a fee of more than 100 million for Caicedo so that no team would spend more than 100 million for their young stars.

However, Liverpool then appeared to want to spend that much money for the 21-year-old player. Caicedo is now ready to undergo medical tests and join Anfield.

Liverpool, who lost midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho who moved to the Saudi Arabian Pro League last month, previously recruited Caicedo team-mate at Brighton, Alexis Mac Allister, last June for a 35 million transfer.

Caicedo joined Brighton from the Ecuadorian team Independiente del Valle for 4 million in February 2021, with a 20 percent sales clause included in the deal.

He did not make his Premier League debut until April 2022, so asked to leave Brighton in the January transfer window earlier this year.

Arsenal then turned down several offers for Caicedo before the player signed a new contract with The Seagulls until 2027 in March.
