Inactive Bandung Walkot Yana Mulyana Claims Foreign Money Confiscated By KPK Not Related To Corruption Cases
The inactive Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana said that the money in foreign currency denominations that was confiscated when she was arrested during the KPK's arrest operation (OTT) on April 14, 2023, belonged to her own.
This was conveyed by Yana when she was present as a witness in the follow-up trial of the bribery case at the Bandung Smart City project at the Bandung Corruption Court.
Yana answered this after the KPK prosecutor asked about the money confiscated during the OTT amounting to around Rp390 million along with Louis Vuitton shoes.
During the trial, the prosecutor asked for the confiscated money stored in the office to the bedroom at Yana's official residence, which consisted of tens of millions of rupiah, then 645 thousand Yen, 1,400 Baht, 14 thousand Singapore Dollars, three thousand US Dollars, and 2,800 Ringgit Malaysia.
"It can be explained where this money came from," asked the prosecutor during the trial as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.
"I only found out the amount of Rp50 million after the KPK officers opened it. That was a gift from Mr. Dadang. When giving Mr. Dadang, he said, 'we are worried that many will ask the Mayor for THR (Yana Mulyana)," Yana said at the trial.
Meanwhile, Yana said that another rupiah money was Rp40 million, which was given by the President Director of PT Citra Jelajah Informatika (CIFO) Sony Setiadi when he first met.
Yana stated that Sony's amount was only known to him for Rp. 40 million, even though Sony was said to have handed over Rp. 100 million in cash when he first met Yana.
"What I know is that there is Rp40 million from Mr. Sony," he said.
For foreign currencies confiscated by the KPK, Yana explained that Yen's money is hers for the purpose of paying for her daughter's college in Japan.
The currency of Baht Thailand, said Yana, is his personal money that was exchanged for costs on his way to Thailand for a visit to the Huawei lab there.
"Yang Yen is for college students, who Baht bought himself before leaving for Thailand. For the 14,000 Singapore Dollars, it happened that I controlled the heart by pass operation in Singapore, the treatment was still ongoing," he said.

"For the USD, Ringgit, that's the remains of the first trip abroad, so it was found in a bedroom drawer, that's because the rest of the trip abroad," he said.
As for the Louis Vuitton shoes that were also confiscated because they were suspected of being part of the "services" he received during a visit to Thailand with financing from PT SMA to smooth out winning the tender, Yana revealed that she bought the shoes with her initial intention of paying for herself.
"If the shoes, after a trip to the Huawei factory, my feet were swollen, abrasions. Finally, I stopped by the mall, looking for a larger size than my shoes, it turned out to be there. I originally intended to pay for it myself, but then the shoes were paid for by Mr. Khairur Rijal, if compared to the rupiah it was Rp. 17 million," he said.
