Source Music Apologizes For Refusing GFRIEND's Nazi Sowon Photo

JAKARTA - The Source Music agency has clarified and apologized for the case that befell Sowon from the GFRIEND group.

Sowon uploaded a photo hugging a mannequin wearing a Nazi uniform. He wrote a caption that said Sowon prefers (mannequin) to Buddy (GFRIEND's fan name).

Jewish fans expressed their disappointment with the photo. Sowon did delete the photo immediately, but he did not convey an apology.

Today, Monday, February 1, the Source Music agency wrote an apology for the video behind the artist's VCR and the photo uploaded by the GFRIEND leader.

"Last year, we rented a cafe in Paju from an outside company to record a comeback VCR in November 2020 and our staff took not only behind-the-scenes videos but also some photos for the artist's social media."

The department in charge didn't notice something was wrong with the mannequin costume on the day of filming.

"We apologize for not knowing there are properties that do not display and pay no attention to content and do not look at social issues and historical facts. We apologize to those who were disturbed by the photo. "

The agency stated that they had edited the video and Sowon removed the photo from social media.

Sowon is GFRIEND's leader. This boy group debuted in 2015 with the song Glass Bead and gained the attention of South Korean music lovers. In 2020, they released the song MAGO from the mini album Walpurgis Night.
