Imitating Singapore, The Governor Of Lemhannas Suggests The TNI To Have A Cyber Force
JAKARTA - Governor of Lemhannas Andi Widjajanto proposed a plan to form a fourth force as a Cyber Force to complete the three dimensions of the TNI in Indonesia.
"On Friday (11 August), I was asked to talk about the possibility that Indonesia, like Singapore, has a cyber force. I have to offer the roadmap whether Indonesia, like Singapore, has a cyber force to complete the Army, Navy and Air Force," Andi said at the National Seminar for Indonesian Digital Transformation 2045 National Resilience at the Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, Monday, August 7, was confiscated by Antara. This follows the possibility that Indonesia will be like Singapore, which has a digital and intelligence service as the fourth batch.
According to him, Singapore needs the Cyber Force, because there is a very significant change in the field of cyber defense. "There is a need for them to attract digital talent into the cyber defense sector and so on," he said. The proposed formation of the Cyber Force in the country is still in its early stages. Because several Ministries/Institutions (K/L) have separate cyber units. "The Ministry of Defense and the TNI have cyber units. In the police, there is also a BSSN, there is a cyber unit. Will it evolve into a separate force like in Singapore?" Andi said.

Even so, he felt that the TNI Headquarters and the Ministry of Defense in the next 5 years could increase this cyber unit. So, what can be seen is the cyber unit at the TNI Headquarters led by a three-star officer. Not only that, this achievement can also attract digital talent in Indonesia to be involved in cyber defense. "From there, it might just be thought whether like Singapore, we need to jump to form a fourth batch, the Indonesian Digital Force," said Andi. For that, Andi said Indonesia must learn from the Lion Country which had prepared it since 7 years ago. Singapore officially created the Cyber Force in October 2022. Currently, Singapore has 3 thousand troops this year. That number will continue to grow to 12 thousand troops within 8 years. "They have a green uniform for the AD, a white uniform for the Navy, a blue uniform for the AU and a gray for the Digital and Intelligence Force," he concluded.
