Prohibited From Boarding Trains And Blacklists, Punishment For Train Passengers Who Deliberately Get Off The Destination Station

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or PT KAI applies new rules for train passengers to accidentally babaklas or exceed the destination station listed on their tickets. The sanctions in the form of fines to the prohibition of boarding trains or blacklists await the reckless violators.

Daily Executive of Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Feni Novida Saragih explained that this new rule was applied solely as part of KAI's commitment to providing rail transportation services that are comfortable, safe, and secure. Meanwhile, this new regulation has been officially enforced starting last Thursday, August 3.

According to data reported by the Costumer Service On Train (CSOT) through the Service Control Center (Pudalyan), for departures and arrivals of KA-KA from and to Jakarta, 58 cases of excess relations have been recorded from January to the end of July 2023.

"There are a lot of various modes carried out by passengers who deliberately do not get off at the station listed on the ticket," Feni said in a press release quoted on Saturday, August 5.

Lenih continued, Feni explained, PT KAI will impose sanctions and fines for train passengers who deliberately get off at stations that exceed the relationship listed on their tickets has come into effect.

If the conductor finds passengers who deliberately exceed the relationship, the conductor conveys to the passenger concerned that they are subject to sanctions in the form of fines that must be paid using cash on the train at that time. And it will be lowered to the station for the first time.

The amount of the fine is 2 times the price of the lowest subclass partial ticket according to the class of services owned by passengers from the destination station listed on the ticket until the station where passengers are lowered. For passengers who deliberately exceed the relationship and cannot pay on the train, the passengers will still be sent to the station for the first opportunity, and will be picked up by station officers.

Officers at the station will take the passengers to the counter to pay the fine. KAI still gives 1x24 hours from the time the train arrival schedule where passengers are lowered for payment of fines. If within 1x24 hours, the passenger does not pay the fine, then the person concerned is not allowed to take the train temporarily for 90 calendar days.

Meanwhile, for passengers who have recorded more than 3 violations of actions exceeding the relationship listed on the ticket, the person concerned is not allowed to take the train temporarily for 180 calendar days.
