Head Of Mardani Maming's Cassation Rejected By The Supreme Court, KPK: Evidence Of No Criminalization
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the bribery case of former Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H. Maming was proven to have no criminalization and politicization. The proof is that the Supreme Court (MA) rejected the cassation filed by the former Chairman of HIPMI.
"The most important thing is that we convey that even though there are several parties who are trying to build an opinion that there is criminalization, politicization in case handling, with the rejection of cassation, all of them are denied," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, August 2.
Even so, Ali said the anti-corruption commission had not yet received the cassation decision which was knocked by the Supreme Court. However, the verdict of the panel of judges at the final level has given permanent legal force and Mardani will be sent to a correctional institution.
"We will wait for an official copy of the Supreme Court to be executed," he said.
The Supreme Court (MA) rejected Mardani Maming's cassation. He still sentenced him to 12 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to four months in prison.
