Former Indosat Official Legitimately Leads Surge, Promises Fiber Optic Infrastructure Optimization
JAKARTA - PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI) or Surge, through an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, has decided on the company's newest management composition. Yune Marketatmo was lined up to become the Company's President Director.
Yune has more than 25 years of experience in the Indonesian telecommunications industry. He has held various strategic positions at Indosat.
"With this experience, it is hoped that it will enable the company to optimize all of its potential, especially in the telecommunications business segment, which will be the main contributor to the company's future performance," explained Surge's official statement, quoted on Thursday, August 3.
As is known, since 2022 Surge (WIFI) has fully operated a 5,724 km fiber-optic network on the island of Java on 3 different lines, namely railroads, toll roads, and also on provincial roads with a capacity of 144 cores and a bandwidth capacity of up to 64 Tbps. The company has also operated 58 Edge Data Centers (EDC) connected to the Fiber Optic Backbone along the train lines.
The various services that telecommunications players can access include Leased Core (Dark Fiber), Leased Line (Bandwidth), Colocation, Content Delivery Network (CDN), Tower Fiberization, and others. Currently the company already has various clients from the Hyperscale Data Center segment, Telco Operators, Internet Service Providers (ISP), and Cloud Providers.

In addition, since early 2023 Surge has also begun to develop Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) connectivity services in collaboration with various well-known global technology companies including Qualcomm, China Huaxin Post & Telecom Technologies, Fujian Taikuk Technology Investment, Fiberhome, Baicells, and other telecommunication companies. which is expected to support the distribution of fast and affordable internet for all levels of society.
The Telecommunications Business Segment contributed 28 percent to the company's net income in the first quarter, growing significantly compared to the previous year's contribution of only 8 percent. This growth is expected to continue to be consistent along with the development of connectivity products and service activation for all Indonesian telecommunication players.
