West Java DPRD Pockets 3 Names Of Candidates For Acting Governor
The Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of West Java Province (Jabar) has pocketed three names of candidates for Governor of West Java to replace West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil whose term of office will be completed on September 5, 2023.
"We from the West Java DPRD, between the leadership elements and the head of the faction, have met, and there are already three names. For these three names we will check the vitaecurriculum and other requirements, we will adjust whether they meet the requirements from the Ministry of Home Affairs," said Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD Ineu Purwadewi Sundari, in Bandung, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 2.
Ineu said the three names that had been pocketed would undergo an administrative completeness examination, before being submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
Ineu said that he could not divulge the names of the three candidates to replace Ridwan Kamil because it was not final and there were still several follow-up meetings.
"Even though we have submitted these three names, the Ministry of Home Affairs will propose three more names. In the end, the President will determine who will be the Acting Governor of West Java," said Ineu.

He ensured that the name proposed was not from the West Java Provincial Government ASN, because one of the main requirements for this name to be submitted is that it must be ASN with the position of echelon one.
"And in the West Java Provincial Government, only one echelon is West Java Regional Secretary, Mr. Setiawan Wangsaatmaja. But he will retire at the end of August. This means that the three names proposed are mostly from the ministry, either from the ministry at the center or the ministry on duty in West Java," he said.
The West Java DPRD, said Ineu, immediately announced the three names submitted as soon as possible and the Ministry of Home Affairs itself gave a deadline for submissions until August 9, 2023.
