50 Houses In Palangka Raya Ludes Devoured By Jago Merah, Refugees Accommodated At KONI Building
A fire engulfed a densely populated residential area in the Lower Flamboyan Complex, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan). Dozens of houses were burned down.
"We have obtained temporary data on around 50 houses," said Head of Prevention and Preparedness of the Palangka Raya City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Heri Fauzi, Tuesday, July 1, as reported by Antara.
He said there were no casualties in the fire accident.
Residents whose houses are on fire will be temporarily accommodated at the KONI Sports Building, which is in the Sanaman Mantikei Field complex.
"In the near future, the Palangka Raya City BPBD will build a temporary public kitchen for fire victims," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Palangka Raya City Fire and Rescue Service, Gloriana, added that until now the exact cause of the fire and the number of houses burned.
Currently, firefighters are also cooling down the scene because there are still remnants of the fire that burned the residents' houses which were made of wood on average.
"Temporary data cannot be obtained because the burned location is quite extensive," he said.
Based on observations in the field, the fire was quite large in the densely populated residential area, causing local residents to panic. Residents with the help of dozens of Palangka Raya City Firefighters tried to extinguish the blaze that engulfed dozens of houses and buildings.
