East Java Provincial Government Targets AI Technology From The UAE
SURABAYA - The East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) is eyeing artificial intelligence technology (AI) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa ensured that the development of AI technology was one of the collaborations that would be established with the Middle Eastern country to later be implemented in the Singhasari Special Economic Zone (KEK), Malang Regency.
"As we all know that the Government Regulation for the digital field of information technology that has been established is SEZ Singhasari. So AI is a very urgent need to operate SEZ Singhasari," said Khofifah after receiving a visit from the Ambassador (Ambassador) of the United Arab Emirates to Indonesia and ASEAN Abdulla Salem Aldhaheri at the Grahadi State building, Surabaya, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.
The regulation referred to by Khofifah, namely Government Regulation Number 68 of 2019, has designated SEZ Singhasari as a tourism zone and technology development.
Khofifah revealed that the United Arab Emirates has a university in the field of AI that allows the East Java Provincial Government to send students through educational scholarship programs, so that when they graduate they can apply their knowledge at the Singhasari SEZ.
Meanwhile, the cooperation that has been established between the UAE and Indonesia is in the field of port and flight transportation.
