Fire In Tanah Abang, Home Owner Panic Sees Fire Spreading On 2nd Floor
Due to an electrical short circuit, a house located on Lontar Bawah Street, RT 07/12, Kebon Melati Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, was burned to the ground, Thursday, July 27. The fire was successfully extinguished by officers from the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. who arrived at the scene.
Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Officer Sunaryo stated that the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat) deployed six pump units and two supporting units along with 32 personnel.
The fire is thought to have occurred due to a short circuit. A neighbor of the owner of the house screamed when he saw the fire blazing on the second floor.

"Mr. Ebih (the owner) is sleeping downstairs. His neighbors screamed, there was a fire on the second floor of the rented place," said Sunaryo in an official statement, Thursday, July 27.
As a result of this fire, the owner reportedly suffered a loss of up to IDR 50 million. However, there were no casualties and obstacles in extinguishing the fire were only the location of the crime scene (TKP) which was narrow.
"The risk of losses is around Rp. 50 million," he said.
