Foreign Investors Are Invited To Invest In Aircraft Financing In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce for Transportation at the 2023 Civil Aviation South East Asia Summit (CASEA 2023) meeting in Bangkok on July 25-26 2023 invites foreign investors to participate in aircraft financing in the country.
"Indonesia as an archipelagic country has enormous potential in terms of the market for the sale of air transportation services," said INACA Chairman Denon Prawiraatmadja in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 26.
It is said, this type of mode is the backbone not only for passenger movements but also goods or logistics. This is what foreign investors are interested in and for Indonesia must be able to take advantage of it.
In addition, he said, foreign financing is interested in financing aircraft in Indonesia considering that Indonesia ratifies Cape Town Convention. This means that the certainty and consistency of regulations from the government of the Republic of Indonesia has been trusted by the international financing market.
Denon, who is also the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Transportation, explained that Indonesia as a country participating in the Cape Town Convention in November 2001, was ratified in 2007, and escorted in Law No. 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation, therefore foreign financing can enter. And that's why flight operators have wider options regarding aircraft/leasing financing.
According to him, almost all countries in the world take advantage of foreign investment, in fact the investment becomes a parameter for investors whether investment in the law has legal certainty and provides benefits in accordance with what is agreed upon together.

"Of course, the Indonesian people must support and take advantage of the trust of these investors so that what these investors instill can have an impact on improving the economy in the country," he said.
Denon also appealed that people do not need to be allergic to foreign investments that come to Indonesia. As a country that has legal certainty, Indonesia must be able to ensure the smooth running of the investment process so that it can be the key so that Indonesia in 2045 can become the country with the largest economy in the world.
