President Jokowi Asks TNI-Polri Officers To Face Technological Threats

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo asked young TNI and Polri officers to always prepare themselves to face the threat of technological developments that take place quickly.

According to Jokowi, the military world and the police have changed rapidly, so that Indonesia should not be left behind and must continue to observe technological developments in order to carry out its duties to face threats well.

"Therefore, I ask you to continue to learn, forge capabilities and expertise, master knowledge and technology, and continue to innovate," said Jokowi when delivering his mandate as Inspector of Ceremony Prasetya TNI-Polri Officers in 2023 at the Merdeka Palace courtyard, Jakarta, Wednesday 26 July.

In the event marking the inauguration of 833 young TNI and Polri officers, Jokowi said that the officers began a real service journey to prove their ability and loyalty in carrying out their duties to serve the community, nation and state.

He added that the duties of young TNI and Polri officers are not easy in maintaining national security stability, maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and continuing the baton of leadership of the nation.

"You will face a very different situation. The world is experiencing very fast changes, very rapid technological disruption, very dynamic geopolitical today, which (all of them) must be addressed appropriately and quickly," he said.

Therefore, he asked the young officers of the TNI and Polri to strive to be role models for the community by maintaining integrity, upholding the ethics and value of soldiers, and always being at the forefront of helping the wider community.

Jokowi also hopes that the TNI and Polri will continue to improve synergy, improve communication and interaction, and often work together to solve common problems. He also felt proud of the inauguration of the young TNI and Polri officers.

"I am also proud of the achievements of men and women, Father, Mother. They are not only the pride of you, ladies and gentlemen, they are also the pride of the Indonesian nation," he said.

Closing Jokowi's mandate, Jokowi asked the young officers to become officers who are perpendicular to the constitution and rules.

"Make your people proud, make your nation proud. The honor of the nation and state is now on the shoulders of all of you. Take care, take care, and make it fragrant," said Jokowi.
