The Ambon Corruption Court Panel of Judges sentenced three defendants to imprisonment for the COVID-19 food and drink budget for the 2020 fiscal year at Dr. M. Haulussy Ambon Hospital.
The 15-month prison sentence was read by the Chairman of the Corruption Court, Martha Maitimu, accompanied by two member judges during the trial in Ambon.
"Declaring that the defendants are legally and convincingly proven guilty of violating Article 3 paragraph (1) of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," said the panel of judges as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25.
"Sentenced the defendant to one year and three months in prison and paid a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to three months in prison," continued the judge in the verdict.
The mitigating thing is that the defendants were polite in the trial, the defendant was the head of the family and had children and wife dependents, and regretted their actions.

Meanwhile, the aggravating thing is that the defendant's actions do not support the government's program in eradicating corruption, collusion, and nepotism, and there has been no return of state financial losses from the defendant.
Based on this decision, both the prosecutor's team and the defendants through their legal advisor Yani Hukom still expressed their thoughts so that they were given seven days to convey their attitude.
