Naughty Parking Attendant In Medan Arrested By Transportation Agency Officers
MEDAN - The Medan City Transportation Service, North Sumatra, has secured a number of naughty parking attendants for leaving parking vehicles and citing retribution manually.
"There are several parking attendants that we have secured because they operate in the e-parking zone, while they do manual quoting," said Head of the Medan City Transportation Service, Iswar Lubis, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25.
This action, he said, had to be taken because a number of e-parking parking attendants in the city of Medan had violated the standard operating procedures (SOP) set.
Medan City Government started last year setting e-parking at 65 road points to prevent illegal levies from practicing, and increase local revenue from parking fees.
There are as many as 15 companies that have the right to quote e-parking at 65 points on the Medan City road which signed the work contract as of February 11, 2022.
"An e-parking parking attendant is prohibited from receiving parking fees in cash," he said.
His party admitted that the naughty parking attendant was met by officers from the Medan City Transportation Service after controlling layered parking on Jalan Jambi or right behind the Sutomo College Foundation.
"This location has indeed repeatedly become our record. There have been many reports coming in and today we are in order," he said.

Iswar also appealed to the school foundation and also parents of students not to park their vehicles in layers at the school location.
"We have appealed to the school and we have reminded the parents of the students. They don't know, because they follow directions from the parking attendant. After we inform them, they just understand," he said.
Wendi, a local resident, appreciated the steps taken by the Medan City Transportation Service to crack down on multiple parking in this area, especially school hours, so as to congestion the flow of traffic.
"Every day it's jammed because it has layers of all the parking, so it's hard for us to pass. So if you put it like this, it's a good time, so it doesn't get stuck again," he said.
