Argentine WSBK Canceled, Final Round Completed
JAKARTA The final round of the World Superbike (WSBK) race which was originally scheduled to be held at the Villicam Circuit, San Juan, Argentina on October 13-15 was canceled. The reason for the cancellation was due to the event along with the election organizers in Tango Country.
Considering the closeness of the upcoming national and provincial elections, the Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO), Groupo OSD, and the San Juan government have chosen to suspend the event at the San Juan Villicam circuit, "said WSBK in a statement quoted by Antara.
In addition, the Argentine round is also scheduled ahead of the transition of government in the province, and it has been decided to wait and allow the event schedule to remain open to the new government. It is also expected to show respect for the political context and allow precise planning for events of WSBK.
The International Motorcycle Racing Federation (FIM) and the Dorna WSBK Organization will soon announce a new arena that will host the final round of the 2023 WSBK World Championships. The closest round is WSBK Czechia which will take place from July 28-30. After that, WSBK will take place in France on September 8-10, then in Aragon on September 22-24, and Portugal from September 29 to October 1.
