Hooray! In October Jokowi Adds Rp8 Trillion Rice Social Assistance
Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani confirmed that the government will increase food social assistance (bansos) which will begin to be distributed in October 2023.
According to the Minister of Finance, this additional food aid in the form of rice will be distributed to 21.35 million beneficiary families (KPM) throughout Indonesia.
"Mr. President (Joko Widodo / Jokowi) has asked us to add more food assistance to the poor. So later in October to December there will be an additional IDR 8 trillion which will be given to 21.35 million KPM," he said during a virtual press conference, Monday, July 24.
The state treasurer explained that every person who receives will receive 10 kilograms of rice assistance every month.

"This is an on top of the distribution of rice food assistance that has been carried out from March to May 2023," he said.
VOI noted that the government in the 2023 budget year has prepared a social protection budget of IDR 476 trillion which is distributed to various sectors.
This jumbo figure is expected to maintain people's purchasing power in order to encourage sustainable economic growth this year.
As for the 2023 food security budget, it was recorded at IDR 104.2 trillion.
