Indonesia Represented By 15 Players In The 2023 Japan Open Badminton Tournament

The Japan Open 2023 will take place from July 25 to July 30 at Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan. This tournament will compete for a total prize of IDR 12.7 billion.

Men's doubles numbers are the sector with the most representatives sent by Indonesia. Among them are the world number one pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

Veteran pair Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan are also included in the group. Together they are Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri / Bagas Maulana, and Pramudya Kusumawardana / Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan.

In the men's singles number Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie who were sent. Both will fight with Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

Meanwhile, in Indonesian women's singles, they rely on Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. The 2017 junior world champion became the sole representative in this sector.

The other six representatives are two women's doubles and four mixed doubles each. The two women's doubles sent are Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Then in the mixed doubles, namely Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.

The journey of Indonesia's representatives at the Japan Open is expected to end better. The reason is, in the last Korean Open tournament last week only one representative reached the final, namely Fajar/Rian.

Unfortunately, the couple had to settle for being Runner-up after losing to India's representative, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty.
