Hit By High Waves, Fishermen In The Waters Of Kuala Kerang Jambi Disappeared
JAKARTA - A fisherman named Yani Ros (35) was reported missing and drowned in the waters of Kuala Kerang, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Saturday, July 22. Until now, the Jambi Basarnas Team and the joint SAR team are still searching for Yani who was thrown from her boat after looking for fish.
"Currently, the Joint SAR team is still searching around the location," said Head of the Jambi Kornelis Basarnas, Antara, Saturday, July 22.
Yani Roy is a resident of Jalan Bahari, Kelurahan Kampung Fisherman, Tungkal Ilir District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency.
According to the Head of the Jambi Basarnas Office, Kornelis, the disappearance of one of the fishermen began when the victim went to sea looking for fish with his father on Saturday morning at around 05.00 WIB.
However, while on the way, the boat carrying was hit by high waves that threw the boat so that the victim fell and could not find it again by his father.

"His parents had tried to help, but it was not visible, his family then immediately reported the matter to the Kuala Tungkal SAR Unit Office," said Kornelis.
After receiving the report, the officers immediately formed a joint SAR team consisting of Basarnas, Polairud, TNI AL and the community to find the whereabouts of the victims.
In the process of searching for officers carrying rubber boats, RIBs, Sonar detects objects under the water surface and a number of other evacuation equipment and until now the process of searching for victims is still ongoing where officers are still constrained by the receding sea water conditions.
