JAKARTA - The work of 12 local Indonesian brands amazed the world through the international standard Moscow Fest Edition - Russian Creative Week 2023 organized by the City Government of Moscow and the Russian Industry Creative Agency (AKI). A total of 12 brands from a number of associations, namely the Association of Indonesian Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs (APPMI), Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW), as well as the Association of Indonesian Garmen and Accessories Suppliers (APGAI) were involved in this event, including Poppy Dharsono, Naniek Rachmat, Musa Widyatmodjo, Koyko, PT Trisco, as well as the brands under the auspices of APGAI, namely Lyne Halim, Batik First, Personal Style, M2, Johnwin, Rodeo, and Felix B.

APPMI Chair Poppy Dharsono said that Indonesia had the honor of being specially invited by the organizers of the Moscow Fest Edition - Russian Creative Week 2023 which took place in Moscow, Russia.

"Indonesia is one of the countries specially invited by Moscow to participate in this fashion festival program," Poppy said in her statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 22.

Modern-ethnic clothing collections to accessories made by various MSMEs from Garut, Central Java, Gorontalo, Lombok, and Sumatra are the main attractions. It is hoped that the eyes of the world will be more open that Indonesia's cultural-based fashion products are no less charming when juxtaposed with the world's big names.

"We consistently promote Indonesia's heritage to the eyes of the world. My own presentation is divided into 2 presentation sessions, I myself present fashion works using Nusantara fabrics ranging from batik, weaving, embroidery, to leather material," said Poppy.

Other countries participating in this event are Thailand, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Srilanka, and many more.

In addition to presentations and fashion demonstrations as well as filling out discussion panels, Indonesian delegates also held many meetings with fashion industry players and their supporters, buyers, as well as with the Moscow city government as well as Russia.

The goal, said Poppy, is to open and find business opportunities between Russia and Indonesia in the creative industry, especially fashion.

The Moscow Fest Edition - Russian Creative Week 2023 aims to increase demand for creative industry products and services and involve citizens in various creative fields, which will bring together all creative industries in Moscow with 2.8 million audiences.

This large-scale event in Moscow is spread across 60 festival venues with creative industry categories such as fashion, design, publishing, video games, performance, art, music, filmmaking, and animation. Furthermore, as a form of campaign continuity, in November the plan is for delegates from Indonesia to also participate in the Moscow Fashion Week event.
