Jambi Police Free Dozens Of Residents Who Were Secured When Blocking The Road
Jambi Police released residents of Pematang Bedaro Hamlet, Teluk Raya Village, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi who blocked the entrance to PT Fajar Pematang Indah Lestari (FPIL).
Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the Jambi Police, Kombes Andri Ananta Yudhistira, said as many as 26 residents who blocked the company's entrance in Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi were finally released by the police after being questioned.
"After the examination, we will return it," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.
Andri said the residents' return was at different hours. The police prioritize repatriating mothers and children.
After the inspection was carried out, he said there were several names that would be recalled regarding the road blocking action.
Previously, on Thursday (20/7), the Jambi Police dispersed the road block action carried out by residents because it had blocked the company's main road for two weeks.
Muaro Jambi Police Chief AKBP Muharman Arta said the disbandment of the road blocking was carried out because the actions carried out by residents were no longer in accordance with applicable regulations.
The blocking of roads by residents has been carried out for more than two weeks. The police assessed that the road blocking action disrupted community activities.

Muharman emphasized that this action to block roads resulted in the activities of companies and employees having to be stopped.
As a result, employees who want to go in and out of the company are disturbed, including daily activities such as taking their children to school.
During the disbandment of the action, the police had a chance to argue with the residents. Until finally there were dozens of residents who were detained by the Jambi Police for questioning and have been sent home.
