The perpetrator of the motorcycle theft with the initials JR (24), a resident of Johar Baru, was caught by residents while stealing a motorbike on Mardani III Street, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta. The Head of the Cempaka Putih Police, Kompol Bernard Saragih, confirmed the incident of the arrest of the perpetrator of the motorcycle theft.

The theft of a motorcycle began when the perpetrator saw a motorbike parked.
"Incidentally, the motorbike was not locked by the handlebar, the perpetrator opened the fence of the house and continued to guide the motorbike. However, the action was known after one of the residents saw it," he said.
The perpetrator was arrested after being shouted at by a thief and was arrested. The perpetrator is an unemployed man who has previously also dealt with criminal acts.

The police chief appealed to residents to be more introspective of their belongings, such as motorbikes, to be locked by a handlebar or to add a double key again.
"Right now, many motorbikes already use remotes, so many residents don't lock the handlebars anymore. I hope that residents will still lock the motorcycle handlebar even though the motorbike uses a remote system," he said.
The perpetrator was charged with Article 362 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with a penalty of five years in prison.
