Spotify Presents Joint Volume Control For Premium Users
JAKARTA - Spotify launched a new capability called joint volume control to improve its music listening experience through the Group Session feature on its platform.
Based on the announcement shared on Monday, July 17, this new feature allows listeners to adjust the volume of the song if they share speakers compatible with the host.
"With this update, we want to give guests more ability to control the volume while listening. We also want to make sure that the hosts can choose what level of control guests should have," the company wrote on its website.
For your information, Group Session is a special feature for Spotify Premium subscribers that was first introduced in 2020. This feature allows many users to control what music plays in real-time and adds songs to a collaborative playlist for the entire group to enjoy.

In its FAQ, the company insists that this joint volume control capability will not be publicly available, but only available to Premium users.
This feature will be rolled out gradually to Android and iOS users globally. So, you have to make sure your device runs the latest version of the app.
"Users will be able to use this feature in Chromecast, Amazon Cast, and all speakers that support wifi that use Spotify Embedd SDK such as Sonos and Bose. Currently it is not supported on AirPlay, Car, or Bluetooth devices," he added.
