Vice President: The Government Continues To Commit To Build Papua's Welfare
SORONG - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in touch with religious, traditional and people of Southwest Papua in Sorong, Sunday, July 16.
On that occasion, the Vice President explained the government's strong commitment in building the Land of Papua to leaders.
"I need to explain that the central government has a strong commitment to building welfare in Papua," said the Vice President in Sorong, quoted by ANTARA, July 16.
The vice president said that one of the government's strong commitments is to provide special autonomy funds and build new autonomous regions (DOB) in Papua to accelerate services to the community.
"So, the new autonomy is to provide services more, to be closer to the community," he explained.
In addition, the government has formed a Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Special Autonomy Development for Papua (BP3OKP) to direct autonomy funds to be right on target.
"Now to be more targeted, supervision is carried out in the field for evaluation, and the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development in Papua, RIPPP," he said.
RIPPP was compiled based on proposals from below in the process of formulating what kind of program Papua needed.
The vice president himself in several visits to Papua always absorbs proposals from various elements in Papua to be included in the RIPPP.
"So that I can see or mark which ones, in my language, which ones are itching (problems), which ones must be scratched (solutiond). So, don't let itching where, which is scratched other places. This means that it doesn't match the problem," he said.
Furthermore, the Vice President as Chair of BP3OKP wants Papuan development to be directed and in accordance with the aspirations of the community.
The Vice President emphasized that the government's goal is to build Papua that is intelligent, healthy, prosperous, and with integrity.
"In addition to hard work, we must build integrity, work together, harmony, and support each other, and support each other like a building," he said.
The vice president previously also visited Fakfak Regency, West Papua, also said that the philosophy of Fakfak Regency "One stove, three stones" which has the meaning of government, traditional, and religious collaboration, must also be maintained. Because the philosophy is considered to be able to solve every existing problem.
