Vice President Invites Synods And Communities Of Churches Involved In Papua Development Formulation
PAPUA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin invites the leadership of Sinode, the Papuan Churches Association (PGGP) to participate in formulating a major strategy for Papuan development.
This was one of the messages conveyed by the Vice President at the Opening of the 168th PGGP Evangelical Day Conference (HPI) throughout the Land of Papua in Manokwari, West Papua, Saturday, July 15.
"I invite the leaders of Sinode, PGGP, and religious figures to formulate a big strategy and work design according to Papuan contextual for the next 20 years," said the Vice President, quoted by Antara.
The Vice President requested that the Church's thoughts should be in line with the government's grand design, called the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Papua's Development in 2022-2041.
In addition, the Vice President also reiterated the importance of the harmony between the wings of the government bureaucracy approach, with the wings of a cultural and religious approach.
According to him, various government development strategies and policies will run optimally through collaboration and partnership with the Church.
He also invited PGGP, the leader of Sinode, to encourage the acceleration of development in the spirit of the Tanah Papua Grand House.
"Although there are now six provinces, I believe, the principle of 'Kitorang Papua as a cultural unit over the Land of Papua', is able to become a solid foundation in one unitary step to achieve mutual prosperity," he said.
The vice president asked PGGP throughout the Land of Papua to intensively synergize, collaborate and coordinate with ministries/agencies and other parties.
In this case, the Vice President directed that the Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Special Autonomy Development for Papua (BP3OKP) together with PGGP continue to oversee the preparation process, planning and implementation of various programs and quick wins according to the contextual Papuan activities.

The Vice President expressed his gratitude to PGGP, the leaders of Sinode, and the Shepherds (people leaders/otrants) who have served unconditionally for progress, humanity, and peace in Papua.
The Vice President believes this is in line with a divine message, "Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, like working for God, not for a human being".
"Finally, from this historic Manokwari Regency, the opening of the 168th PGGP Evangelical News Day Conference throughout the Land of Papua, as well as the declaration of Papuan Development Christian Center in Jayapura City, I declare it was inaugurated," said the Vice President.
