14 Houses In Agam, West Sumatra Damaged Due To Landslide Materials

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Agam Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), noted that 14 housing units were affected by landslide material in Jorong Sungai Tampang, Nagari Tanjung Sani, Tanjung Raya District, due to high rainfall that hit the area on Thursday (13/7) night.

Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Agam Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Ichwan Pratama Danda, said that the material entered the residents' houses and several houses were damaged by landslide material.

"Nine families fled to the homes of neighbors, families, and public facilities, as a result of their damaged houses," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 14.

"The condition of the material entering the house is about five centimeters to one meter," he continued.

The rocky mud material covered five road access points at that location with a length of 150 meters with a height of 10 to 50 centimeters.

The landslide material also brought a fallen tree covering the five-meter-long road access with a height of up to one meter.

"The material cleaning is underway by involving BPBD, Satpol PP Damkar, PMI, TNI, Polri, and others," said Ichwan.
