Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture Affirms The Important PPDB Zoning To Prevent Schoolstanization
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy reiterated that the zoning system in New Student Admissions (PPDB) is important to be taken to prevent school casteization.
The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture conveyed this in the midst of the re-emergence of a number of fraud findings made by parents in several areas to outsmart the PPDB zoning system.
"In my opinion, zoning still has to be implemented, so that's in our efforts to prevent the occurrence of school casteization, which used to be fraudulent, is much more severe than it is now," said Coordinating Minister Muhadjir as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 13.
According to the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, along with the implementation of the PPDB zoning system, the local government (Pemda) is faced with two main tasks, namely first drafting regional regulations (perda) to enforce the regulation.
So, he continued, if there is fraud, it can be ascertained that there will be clear action.
The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture emphasized that this responsibility is in line with the status of policies related to education which are concurrent matters or matters that have been distributed between the central government and local governments, both at the provincial and district/city levels.
"So if the frauds are left alone, especially those who cheat are the officials, now this will get worse later," said Coordinating Minister Muhadjir.
Then the responsibility of the two local governments is to carry out an equitable program of school quality or education in line with the objectives of the zoning system.
"So that there are no favorite schools, all schools must be favorites, so that someone doesn't have to cheat because they still have their favorite schools," he said.
If fraud occurs or the perception that favorite schools are still fertile, continued the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the local government must immediately conduct an internal evaluation of the sustainability and success of education quality equitable programs.
The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture reminded that the findings of fraudulent PPDB zoning did not occur in all regions. He referred to DKI Jakarta as one of the provinces that has been very good in intervening for equitable education quality.
"It's not just the country that is considered, including assistance for the private sector, so it's comfortable for whoever the parents send them away, there's no need to catch up with very disgraceful ways to catch a favorite school," he said.
Previously, Deputy II of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Abetnego Tarigan on Wednesday (12/7) asked the local government to go to the field to oversee the implementation of PPBD registration on the zoning route to prevent fraud.
"We (KSP) also encourage the implementation of enforcement of existing regulations to accelerate the improvement of the implementation of PPDB through the zoning route," said Abetnego.

According to Iwan, in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission X of the DPR RI in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/7), local governments can ask the Population and Civil Registration Office (Dukcapil) and the local Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to analyze prospective new students who will graduate from the domicile aspect, availability of capacity, as well as verification and validation of the validity of the Family Card (KK).
