Pertamina-Toyota Develops Hydrogen-Based Car Ecosystem
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has made innovations in the New and Renewable Energy (EBT) sector by developing a hydrogen-based vehicle ecosystem and collaborating with Toyota.
President Director of PT Pertamina New and Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) Dannif Danusaputro explained, this development was carried out to see the extent of the potential of the hydrogen business for transportation.
"Hydrogen for this vehicle is an alternative transportation with clean energy. Pertamina and Toyota will develop a passenger car ecosystem with a hydrogen base," said Danif, quoted on Thursday, July 13.
Danif continued, Pertamina NRE will also cooperate with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga to build the hydrogen filling infrastructure itself.
According to him, Pertamina already has the advantages of supporting facilities spread throughout Indonesia. This is one of the added values of EBT business development in the future.
"In the future, we will prepare hydrogen refueling stations that can later be used by cars based on hydrogen in Pertamina's existing facilities, as evidence of Pertamina's commitment to optimizing the infrastructure to accelerate energy transition," added Dannif.
