Constrained By Funds, MU Plans To Do This To Get Atalanta Strikers
JAKARTA - Manchester United are still busy looking for new strikers on the transfer market this summer. A number of names have been linked, but only a discourse without any realization being created.
Famous names such as Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen were reportedly targeted by MU. However, the English Premier League club did not take concrete steps to bring in both of them.
Later, the club nicknamed the Red Devils approached the Atalanta striker, Rasmus Hojlund. However, the problem of funds is said to be an obstacle.
Some British media say MU is starting to consider taking player exchange options to bring Hojlund to Old Trafford.
The Mirror reported that MU would offer striker Amad Diallo as part of the transfer agreement.
The Red Devils prioritized Hojlund's pursuit to fill the striker post on the front lines after striker's slot was abandoned by Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Nassr in the transfer market last January. This position was filled with Wout Weghorst, but did not end sweetly with his loan period not being extended.
Hojlund, the 20-year-old, impressed his first season with Atalanta after being brought in from Sturm Garz's club in last summer's transfer market. Together with Atalanta, Hojlund has scored nine goals in Serie A.
In the Euro 2024 qualification, the Danish national team striker also appeared promising by scoring six goals from four matches.

Quoted from Antara, the funds needed to bring in Hojlund are quite large, which is estimated at more than 40 million. However, Manchester United is reportedly saving money after signing Mason Mount from Chelsea and has reached an agreement with Andre Onana from Inter.
Hojlund's signing plan was reviewed with the option of exchanging players, especially since the Red Devils have not sold players in the main squad.
Meanwhile, last season Amad was loaned to Championship club or second-tier division of the English League Sunderland. During his loan period, Amad has scored 14 goals in all competitions.
Previously, Amad was brought in by Manchester United from Atalanta three seasons ago. With many options in the right wing, Amad is likely to be removed from Old Trafford Stadium with a loan agreement.
