Jin Ki Joo And Kim Dong Wook Reveal Korean Drama Uniqueness, My Perfect Stranger
JAKARTA - According to Jin Ki Joo, the drama My Perfect Stranger has many genres in it when compared to other time travel mystery dramas. This drama was originally just a sci-fi thriller story that chased a killer in the past, then turned into a comedy romantic.
"When the audience follows the storyline of this drama, they will realize that arresting a murder suspect is not the most important thing. The most important point is the feelings the main characters have towards the people around them, especially their families," Jin Ki Joo said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 13.
"So, I think the biggest attraction of this drama is that it can cross various genres, ranging from media, comedy, and mystery," he added.
Meanwhile, Kim Dong Wook said this drama has been full of mystery since the initial episode. Even the time machine that takes them to the past is a mystery in itself.
"The time machine here is an ordinary car. But if the car passes a special tunnel, it can travel in time. From there, there has been a question of where a tool like this could emerge," he said.
"Then if the engine is damaged, can you go back to the early days or not? The process of the emergence of various mysteries and the gradual solution is what makes this drama different," added Kim Dong Wook.

My Perfect Stranger follows the story of Yoon Hae Joon (played by Kim Dong Wook) and Baek Yoon Young (played by Jin Ki Joo) who got a chance to return to the past.
Both Yoon Hae Joon and Baek Yoon Young have different goals when they return to the past. But along the way, it turns out that many events connect the two of them.
According to Kim Dong Wook, the idea of a story about two main characters who have different goals to return to the past is also very interesting. He argues that all the storylines in this drama are very different.
"Ide is back to her mother's childhood and being able to be friends with her is very interesting. Coupled with the story going back to the past to find and pursue a serial killer who is likely to kill you," he said.
