DPRD Waits For Ministry Of Home Affairs Letter Regarding Acting Governor Of North Sumatra
The chairman of the North Sumatra DPRD (North Sumatra), Baskami Ginting, said that his party was waiting for a letter of implementation instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the acting process (Pj) which would replace North Sumatra Governor Edy Rahmayadi.
"Regarding the Acting Officer, we are still waiting for the Minister of Home Affairs' letter, we will wait for the mechanism," Baskami said in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.
Based on experience, said Baskami, the North Sumatra DPRD will recommend three names to the Minister of Home Affairs. Then the Minister of Home Affairs will choose the Acting Governor of North Sumatra.
"If we hear verbally, there are three that we will send from North Sumatra, sent to the President through the Minister of Home Affairs, but the letter has not yet come down," said Baskami.
Baskami admitted that he had not heard about the names of the Acting Governor of North Sumatra who had circulated, such as the Chancellor of the University of North Sumatra (USU) Muryanto Amin and the Regional Secretary of North Sumatra Province Arief Sudarto Trinugroho.
"Nothing has appeared yet. I haven't heard of the name yet," he said.

He said that if the implementation instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs had been received, the North Sumatra DPRD would hold a meeting of the leadership of the council.
"Until today, I have not heard about it, about the desire, go ahead, it's legal, in principle we are waiting for the mechanism, I will bring it to the Faction meeting, and the leadership of the council, respond to the letter from the Minister of Home Affairs," said Baskami.
As is known, during the leadership of the Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi and Deputy Governor, Musa Rajeksah will end on September 5, 2023.
