SEMARANG - Thousands of traffic violators were caught during Operation Patuh Candi 2023 which was held since 10 July. Temporary data from the operation post stated that 8309 violations were caught on ETLE cameras or found directly by officers in the field.
Dirlantas Polda Central Java, Kombes Pol Agus Suryo Nugroho explained that the majority of the violators were carried out by motorcyclists without helmets and motorbike riders and cars who violated road markings.
"First, the driver without a helmet and second, the road user who violates the markings," said Kombes Agus, in a short message Thursday, June 12.
The location of the majority violation, he continued, occurred in big cities with relatively the same number of violations.
Kombes Agus also revealed that the Central Java Police prioritized ETLE when taking action against traffic violations.
"Violators in capture, if there are fatal violations such as riding three, including not wearing helmets and nopol, then we stop and ticket," he said.
"Meanwhile, on the toll road we focus on overspeed vehicles," he continued.

Kombes Agus admitted that he had not been able to evaluate the types of violations or the results of Operation Patuh Candi 2023 comprehensively because it had only been three days.
"The evaluation may be carried out after seven days. However, the situation in Central Java, including 35 Polres, is conducive," he said.
He explained, at Operation Patuh Candi 2023, the Central Java Police did not highlight the action of taking action against traffic violators but prioritized elements of education and service improvement, including socialization to the community.
"The point is to increase public awareness so as to reduce the level of traffic violations and reduce the fatality of accident victims on the highway," he said.
