YouTube Tests AI-Created Quiz Feature in Educational Videos
JAKARTA - YouTube is piloting a new quiz feature created by its Generative AI tool for iOS and Android mobile devices, to make it easier for users to understand learning topics on its platform.
"Testing AI-generated quizzes on mobile devices to make it easier for people to learn about topics they are interested in, we experimented with AI-generated quizzes on the YouTube mobile app Home feed," the YouTube team wrote on Google's support site, quoted Monday, July 10.
Furthermore, Google says that this feature will also help the video sharing platform get a better understanding of how well each video covers a certain topic.
Also noted by Google, that this quiz feature by AI has been rolled out globally for only a select few. That is, not everyone will see it.

"If you're a viewer in an experiment, you may notice this AI-generated quiz starting to appear on your app's homepage. The quiz will test your understanding of a subject covered in the video you just watched," they added.
It's also worth noting that this quiz feature is only available for a limited portion of English content, which will appear on the homepage as a link under the video you've recently watched.
"If you choose to take the quiz, links to recently watched videos will appear below it so you can easily navigate back to learn more about the topics covered," Google concluded.
The trial of this quiz feature seems to be one of Google's steps towards achieving the goal for users to learn new things.
