Note, Bacaleg's Final Limit For Implementing Administration At KPU Until Tonight At 23.59 WIB

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia received an administrative improvement in the document on the requirements for prospective legislative candidates (caleg) from the last political party participating in the 2024 General Election, Sunday, until 23.59 WIB.

"Today, Sunday, July 9, 2023, based on Attachment 1 of KPU Regulation Number 10 of 2023, is the last day of submitting the repair of administrative documents for legislative candidates," said RI KPU member Idham Kholik quoting Antara, Jakarta, Sunday, July 9.

As of 16.20 WIB, it was observed that four political parties had submitted administrative improvements to the administrative requirements for their candidates to the Indonesian KPU Office on Jalan Imam Bonjol No. 29, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The four political parties were the NasDem Party, which was present at 10.18 WIB, followed by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) at 11.05 WIB, the National Mandate Party (PAN) at 14.27 WIB, and the Labor Party at 14.52 WIB.

"We provide an opportunity for political parties to improve the administrative requirements document for prospective legislative members who yesterday stated that they still did not meet the requirements (BMS)," added Idham.

The KPU has opened a period of filing for the repair of the required documents for the legislative candidate since June 26. Furthermore, Idham explained that on June 24, the KPU had submitted the results of the administrative verification for the legislative candidate.

Of the total 10,323 registered candidates, said Idham, 89.81 percent of them did not meet the requirements so the documents had to be corrected by the supporting political parties.

"Of the 10,323 candidates who will register, only 10.19 percent (who meet the requirements)," he said.

Furthermore, the KPU will verify the administrative repair of candidates from July 10 to August 6, 2023. Then, on August 6-11, 2023, a temporary candidate list (DCS) will be carried out.

"After that, we have just prepared the determination of the DCS. The DCS will be determined no later than August 18, 2023," he added.

Later, DCS will be announced by the KPU at various levels for five days, namely on 19-23 August 2023.

"From August 19, for 10 days until August 28, the public can provide input and responses to DCS which we publish at various levels," said Idham.
