MotoGP At The Mandalika Circuit Is Confirmed To Be Held In October 2023
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) was confirmed to be held in October 2023 according to the set schedule.
"MotoGP will still be held in October 2023 at the Mandalika Circuit," said Erick Thohir while attending the Shell Eco Marathon event, at the Mandalika Circuit, quoted from Antara, Sunday, July 9.
He said that supporting the development of Sport tourism in the Mandalika SEZ was not enough just to hold two events, namely MotoGP and WSBK. So that various events continue to be held at the Mandalika Circuit, including the Shell Eco Marathon, which was attended by hundreds of students from dozens of universities both from within the country and abroad.
"We continue to try various events so that they can be held in Mandalika," he also said.
The construction of the Mandalika Circuit has been completed, but the supporting facilities for tourist destinations at the Mandalika SEZ continue to be developed. So that in the future it is planned to build an international standard horse racing circuit and a golf course.
"We are developing this area for sport tourism," said Erick again.
Therefore, it is hoped that the synergy and collaboration between the central government and local governments and the community will support the development of the Mandalika SEZ.
