Suffering Brings Enjoy: This Man Flies In A 'PersonalJet' After 18 Hours Delay Due To Storm
JAKARTA - This man may be the 'luckiest' airplane passenger, as his patience awaits flights with experience such as boarding a private jet alone.
That's the experience felt by Phil Stringer who was about to fly from Oklahoma to North Carolina, United States on a plane scheduled to take off on Sunday at 6.30 am.
However, when the American Airlines plane from Oklahoma City to Charlotte he was traveling in took off, it was Monday morning. He was also on a 'private jet'.
The story begins when Stringer has to accept the fact that his morning flight was delayed due to a storm that caused more than 9,000 flights in the United States to be canceled or postponed over the weekend at the end of last June.
When the delay takes longer - Stringer says his departure has been delayed no less than seven times - another passenger who will travel on the same flight, chooses to order another flight or cancel it. But, Stringer survives.
When the plane finally took off exactly 12 minutes past midnight, or after 18 hours of delay, he was the only passenger to board the plane.
He recorded the process and uploaded the video to Tiktok, showing his experience.
"I'm the only person on the plane and they have a whole flight crew, they 'don't want' to make this flight," he was quoted as saying by CNN July 7.
"The airline 'attracts' crew from the hotel to make this flight only for one person," he continued.
He recorded a baggage officer confirming that he had only put one bag into the plane, a laughing gate agentUSing as he announced his departure to a row of vacant chairs, and a cheerful personal safety demonstration by flight attendants, who did not appear angry at being called to work in the middle of the night as he should.
The flight arrived at 3:35 a.m. and he arrived home at around 7 a.m., took a shower and went to work without sleep, he told CNN affiliate WSOC-TV in an interview.
"I feel very bad (to the crew)," he added.
"They were at the hotel, they were going to go to bed. I was like, 'Oh my goodness, they really had to come here for me," he said.

Maybe as a substitute for sins, the crew joked that Stringers would not get nuts or prizes.
But on the other hand, Stringer said those who flew in the middle of the night had fun and were still communicating with each other the next day.
Despite enjoying a 'private' flight, Stringer also experienced a 'lock' of baggage, the loss rate of the bag rose by almost 75 percent, when the bag he was carrying was 'wrong' for about 45 minutes when he arrived at his destination.
