Resso Will Close In Indonesia, Bytedance Bring TikTok Music As A Substitute
JAKARTA - TikTok has long dominated the social media market in a short video format. Now this Chinese company is launching an independent music application that is claimed to be a competitor to Spotify and Apple Music.
Subscribed music streaming service called TikTok Music has been launched in Brazil and Indonesia.
Bytednace as the parent of TikTok said the new music application was here to replace Resso who will stop operating on September 5, 2023. Resso users can move their account to TikTok Music.
"This latest social music streaming service will take advantage of TikTok's power to find music, which helps users to enjoy favorite songs trending on TikTok Music," Bytedance said in a statement, quoted Friday, July 7.
"Giving customers the ability to hear, download, and share full songs with their communities, as well as moving from TikTok to TikTok Music easily," he added.
TikTok Music offers a variety of features designed to improve user experience on the platform, including Sync with Tiktok, Playing Trending Songs, Finding More Personalized Music, Finding New Artists/Musesis or Riding Leaves.

In addition, TikTok Music also offers a complete music catalog of thousands of labels and artists or musicians that can be heard without interruption and ad-free, as well as an offline download function for users.
"As a premium subscription music service, TikTok Music brings a high-quality music audience experience, while increasing opportunities and income for artists or musicians and copyright holders," said TikTok.
New users of TikTok Music can take advantage of a one-month free trial on the platform and will then be billed for a payment of IDR 44,900 per month (individual package), IDR 24,500 (student package), IDR 79,000 for family packages that can connect to six accounts. Applications can be downloaded on the Play Store and App Store.
