Mercedes-Benz Officially Starts New GLC Local Assembly In Indonesia
JAKARTA - After previously being introduced in June, PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia (MBDI) and PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MBI), a Mercedes-Benz car distributor in Indonesia, officially started local assembly for its newest model, New GLC.
Recently, MBDI and MBI held the inaugural Roll-Off event for the New GLC. This event is the launch of the first unit that has been assembled locally.
Choi Duk Jun, President Director of PT MBDI, stated that this latest SUV is the best-selling model for Mercedes-Benz around the world, including in Indonesia. In addition, this model has also contributed greatly to sales since the presence of the GLC.
"Recently we introduced The New GLC in June at the Star Drive event, and now the first unit in Indonesia has been successfully assembled locally by our team at the Wanaherang factory," Choi said in an official statement on Wednesday, July 5.
Choi also added that it is an honor for Mercedes-Benz to always conduct local assembly, including for the New GLC model.
Mercedes-Benz GLC has been assembled locally since 2016 at the Wanaherang factory, Bogor. This is done so that the GLC has a competitive price in the Indonesian premium SUV market.
PT MBDI has also released an official price for The New GLC, which is IDR 1.4 billion Off The Road. Customers interested in this SUV can order it through the nearest Mercedes-Benz official dealer.

This luxury SUV has a distinctive AMG design with sporty air-intake, chrom coated trim elements, and a panoramic sliding sunset. Even though it uses combustion engines, the SUV is also equipped with hybrid technology.
With a 4 Matic engine, this SUV is capable of generating up to 258 dk of power with a 400 Nm torque. This is combined with a mid-hybrid system that provides 22 dk of power and 200 Nm of torque.
Other features available on The New GLC include DIGITAL LIGHT with the Smart Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus feature, 3D Burmester audio system with 15 speakers, NTG 7 generation MBUX, and Agility Control suspension.
