Passenger Trains On The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Train That Are Starting To Be Tested
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) through the Fast Train contractor has begun testing the Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) series or the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train Passenger Train (KCJB).
The test of this series of passenger trains was carried out after previously testing with a Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT) or an Inspection Train of up to 350 km per hour.
"Currently, testing has entered the next stage, namely testing for a series of passenger trains with a test pattern that has not been intended to transport passengers," said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti, in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 4.
Emir said the series of Passenger Trains has the same type of KCIC400AF as the Inspection Train but has different functions, interiors, and exteriors. Unlike the Inspection Train which is filled with meeting rooms and measuring equipment, the Passenger Train serves to serve passengers so that there are seating facilities of up to 601 passengers.
In addition to the interior, continued Emir, differences are also seen in the exterior where the Inspeksi Train is gray and yellow, while the Passenger Train is gray and red.
The passenger train on the Fast Train also has the name Red Komodo or Komodo Merah. This is based on a series of red and shape-inspired animals from Indonesia from prehistoric times.
Emir said the exterior of the passenger train was also inspired by the Komodo scales reflected in the triangular pattern on the nose and doors of the train.
Furthermore, Emir explained that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train passengers are made as comfortable as possible so that passengers enjoy the trip according to the desired class. There is also an element of local wisdom through the use of a mega cloudy batik motif on all seats and the shape of the train inspired by Komodo.
We continue to prepare for the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train connection as well as possible with all stakeholders. For people who want to try the Fast Train so that they can wait for official information from KCIC. This is because until now the registration procedures and schemes are still under discussion," said Emir.
High-speed Train Class
Emir said there were 11 trainsets or a series of KCJB passenger trains that had arrived entirely in Indonesia.
"The entire train series is currently parked at the Tegalluar Depo and is preparing to be certified by the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the feasibility of train operations," he said.
Emir said, one series of high-speed trains consists of 8 trains with a total length of 208 meters which has three service classes, namely First Class on train 1 and 8, Business Class on train 7, and the rest is Premium Economy.
