West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ensures Road Contonization In Langgai Village, Pesisir Selatan
PADANG - The West Sumatra Provincial Government is improving road infrastructure in Langgai Village, Sutera District, Pesisir Selatan Regency which is categorized as 3T (restrict, underdeveloped, frontier).
"We will gradually improve the road infrastructure according to the availability of the budget," said West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 1.
Mahyeldi said that currently the 12-kilometer road segment is still in the form of land roads and coralstones, so that it becomes an obstacle for the local community, the majority of whom are farmers, to bring their crops to the market.
According to him, the status of the road is a provincial road, therefore the repair will use funds from the West Sumatra Provincial Budget.
In 2023, the West Sumatra Provincial Government allocated a budget of IDR 1 billion for repairing the road by means of concreteization. Repairs are focused on vulnerable and severely damaged points.
"Next year we will add a budget to continue road repairs," said the governor.

The Betonization was chosen by the West Sumatra Provincial Government on the grounds that asphalting was difficult because to get to the area one unit of the suspension bridge could not be passed by heavy equipment.
"Next year we will also strive to prepare a detailed engineering design (DED) for the repair of Nagari's suspension bridge to replace North Mudiak Surantiah with Nagari Ampalu along 140 meters," he said.
Meanwhile, Walinagari Gantang Mudiak Utara Surantiah, Zulhadi, said that good road access is one of the main problems for the people in the village.
"If roads can be repaired, the community's economy can increase because it will be easier to market agricultural products, especially gambir," he said.
He hopes that the improvements made by the West Sumatra Provincial Government, although gradually it will be able to realize people's dreams to have a good path.
