WhatsApp Launches Chat Transfer Feature Only With QR Code
JAKARTA - WhatsApp has finally launched a feature to facilitate the transfer of chat history from old phones to new phones using only QR code-based methods.
Users migrating to other phones with the same operating system will be able to transfer WhatsApp data using a local Wi-Fi connection.
"Now you can transfer your full chat history smoothly, quickly, and safely on the same operating system without having to leave the app," WhatsApp tweeted.

According to WhatsApp, this method is safer than third-party solutions because the data is encrypted and only shared between two devices through the user's local network.
Before the feature arrived, WhatsApp relied on cloud reserves to facilitate data transfer between devices running the same operating system.
To transfer chat history, make sure both devices are turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network, then follow the following steps:
1. Open WhatsApp on old devices and open Settings click Chat select chat Transfer.
2. After completing this step, you will see a QR code.
3. Then, scan the QR code from the new phone to complete the transfer process and wait for it to finish.
Launching TechCrunch, Saturday, July 1, not only the chat history transfer feature, WhatsApp also offers multi-device functionality where users can sync messages on various devices using one phone number.
