Revenge Porn Is Rising Again On Social Media, Observer: The Importance Of Education From An Early Age!
JAKARTA - The case of revenge or porn revenge has returned to the spotlight in Indonesia. Some time ago, it was crowded on social media that a student in Pandegelang became a victim.
Cyber Security Expert and Social Media Observer Ibnu Dwi Cahyo said that the case of revenge porn is an iceberg phenomenon and must be the beginning to fix the legal system.
This revenge porn is an act against the law by spreading immoral content accompanied by threats in several cases. Generally, revenge porn occurs by ex-partners, if you look at Twitter, most of the revenue porn content is distributed by unmarried couples or by other people who get content in a certain way," Ibnu said in a statement quoted on Friday, June 30.
"For example, putting a hidden camera to get the immoral content," he added.
Furthermore, Ibnu also underlined that all of them could become victims, both men and women. The perpetrators usually do social engineering, by convincing the victim to be willing to be photographed, video or send the content.
When the perpetrators get the content they want, social media will be used as a threat to the victim. One of them is economic motives, if rejected, the content will be immediately distributed.
"This has clearly violated the ITE Law article 27 paragraphs 1 and 4, where the perpetrators not only distribute immoral content accompanied by threats to the victim," explained Ibnu.

According to Ibnu, the revenge porn case must also be a concern for educational institutions, where they can provide education from an early age by introducing cybersecurity, such as not creating naked content in front of the camera.
In particular, the government also acts so that perpetrators get appropriate punishment when spreading the content on social media.
"Therefore, it is very important to educate early on cybersecurity, one of which is related materials, don't be naked in front of the camera. (Meanwhile) the state through the police and the Ministry of Communication and Information can control social media accounts, especially on Twitter, which uploads this Porn revenue content," said Ibnu.
"Finally, law enforcement on perpetrators of revenge porn must be given optimally so that there is a deterrent effect and an example in society," he added.
