Khatib In Banyumas Invites Muslims To Compete With Prophet Ibrahim To Create A Superior Generation
JAKARTA - Khatib in the implementation of Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri prayers in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province, on Wednesday morning invited Muslims to imitate Prophet Ibrahim AS and his family."In this Eid al-Adha, let us emulate the experience of the Prophet Ibrahim's family which is full of trials, sacrifices, fortitude, and sincerity," said Khatib Dr. Jebul Suroso in a sermon entitled Commemorating the Leadershipship of Prophet Ibrahim. The Chancellor of Muhammadiyah University, Purwokerto, told how Prophet Ibrahim AS, who really missed the presence of children, was tested for his love for Allah SWT after being blessed with children."After the child is given by Allah, Ibrahim is tested, will his love for Allah be overcome by his love for the long-awaited child? Apparently not, Ibrahim passed the tough test of Allah," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, June 28.According to him, Prophet Ibrahim also showed exemplary as a leader of the family and a plenary society. As a father, Prophet Ibrahim was able to communicate with the discussion road to foster children's sincerity so that the child was consciously willing to carry out Allah SWT's orders."Of course we need the nation's children who are willing to sacrifice their time and energy for the progress of the nation. We need a superior and great generation, a generation who loves Allah and obeys His rules, because only by returning to God's rules of life, all the problems we face can be solved properly," Jebul explained. He said that Eid al-Adha which is commemorated every 10 Zulhijah with the slaughter of sacrificial animals cannot be separated from the story of Prophet Ibrahim AS as stated in the Al-Quran.According to him, the slaughter of sacrificial animals is intended to foster sincerity, kindness, and noble morals and erode the nature of wrongdoing and destruction. In his sermon, Khatib also conveyed four things that must be had to be a superior generation, namely strong belief, high commitment, consistency, and real work."From Prophet Ibrahim we will learn how Ibrahim dreamed of being ordered to slaughter the child he loves. No matter how heavy the order is, but because it is Allah who orders then Prophet Ibrahim has the attitude to immediately carry out, there is no desire to negotiate," he explained.Prophet Ibrahim made his best efforts to carry out Allah SWT's orders and show perfect obedience to Him."Regarding Prophet Ibrahim's commitment to obedience, Allah emphasized it in another verse. Prophet Ibrahim is the father, leader, and husband who truly understands the truth of the words of Allah Ta’ala," said Khatib.Khatib said the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail related to the history of sacrificial worship in the Al Quran symbolizes the personal worship of a servant who is consistent with his belief in Allah SWT."We are grateful that we were blessed with a Prophet Ibrahim who gave an example of his consistency in his relationship with Allah SWT and humans, namely his family. Even though it was a difficult choice and a dilemma, Prophet Ibrahim carried it out without any doubt, this consistency is the command of Allah SWT," he said.According to him, Prophet Ibrahim prioritized the affairs of the afterlife rather than temporary affairs. Therefore, he invites Muslims to always remember that life in the mortal and short world is real."The spirit of amar ma’ruf and nahi mungkar must be maintained and inflamed. Of course, all of this requires sincerity, patience, and sacrifice," he said. The Banyumas Muhammadiyah Regional Management in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, originally planned to hold Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri prayers in Purwokerto Square. However, Eid prayers were finally held at the Baitussalam Purwokerto Grand Mosque because it was raining.
