PKH Facilitator Arrested By The Police For Embezzling Money Rp. 107 Million For Spree
CIANJUR - The companion of the Family Hope Program (PKH) Cianjur, West Java, Peri Irawan (33) was arrested by the police for embezzling beneficiary family (KPM) money for two years totaling Rp. 107 million. The perpetrator uses the money to buy motorized vehicles and spree.
The Head of Cianjur Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Mochamad Rifai, said that the disclosure of the case began with reports of 17 recipients of social assistance from the central government to the Sindangbarang Police Headquarters some time ago. Where their names are registered as beneficiaries, but have never received assistance money.
"Dozens of people are residents of Jayagiri Village, Sindangbarang District who are registered as beneficiaries, but have never received money from the PKH program which is disbursed every month by the perpetrator who is PKH's companion on behalf of Peri Irawan," said AKBP Rifai as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 26.
Since being appointed as PKH Facilitator, the perpetrator has never submitted a savings book and ATM on behalf of 17 beneficiaries. Even when asked, the perpetrator often argued that the recipient did not receive assistance and had been transferred to someone else.
However, after being investigated, each month the 17 people received assistance of Rp. 200 thousand to Rp. 300 thousand every month which the perpetrator had disbursed and used to buy motorized vehicles and spree. Until finally the perpetrator was arrested along with a number of evidence.
"From the suspect's hands, we secured several files of appointment as PKH companion, one payment data file for Jayagiri Village, a bank account sheet in the name of Deuis Mimpalah and 17 ATM cards belonging to the beneficiary which the perpetrator never gave," said Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Rifai.
The perpetrator will be charged under Article 8 of Law number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law number 31 of 1999 concerning corruption with the threat of imprisonment for 15 years.
"The perpetrator will be charged with the threat of imprisonment for 15 years for his actions," said Rifai.
