Residents Find Unidentified Bodies On Halut Beach During SAR Search For 2 Shipwrecked Crews In Ternate
The body of an unidentified man was found around the coast of Igo Village, North Loloda District, North Halmahera, North Maluku (Malut), Thursday, June 22.
"It is true that a body was found in the coastal waters of Igo Village, and currently Loloda Police personnel are at the TKP to secure the body," said North Loloda Police Chief Ipda Frangki Waisapy, Thursday, June 22, as reported by Antara.
The police chief stated that the discovery had been coordinated with Basarnas and Polairud. Furthermore, a number of victim identification processes were carried out.
"We have coordinated with Basarnas and Polairud, while they are heading to the TKP to further identify victims," he said.
Igo Village Secretary Donis Himo said the body was found by residents while fishing. Then the residents were evacuated to the beach. Because the condition was swollen and could not be lifted to the boat, the fishermen pulled him with a rope to the mainland. "Currently the corpse is still on the beach, because it has caused a smell so it is still being secured on the beach waiting for further treatment by the authorities," he said.
