JAKARTA - Since its 1979 appearance, the Toyota Supra model has been legendary by offering a sporty look and performance that world automotive lovers like.
To celebrate the birth of Supra's model, Toyota released a special edition of this masterpiece, namely the 2024 Toyota GR Supra, with a more aggressive look different from the standard version of the GR Supra.
Quoted from the Toyota USA page, Wednesday, June 21, the car, which was launched to celebrate its 45th anniversary of this iconic name, Toyota, embeds a 19-inch aluminum rim with a kaline-black color with a Gazoo Racing (GR) logo caliber brake.
By presenting the 3.0 Premium Grade package, Toyota also added a back wing that plays a role in increasing down pressure power on the Supra GR. In fact, this car user can manually set the tuning on the rear wing as desired.
Although this car is presented differently, the engine owned by the special edition of the 2024 GR Supra remains the same. The special edition of the Toyota GR Supra is equipped with a 3.0 liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that can vomit 382 dk and 498 Nm.
With this impressive engine, GR Supra 2024 comes with a six-speed manual transmission option and eight automatic accelerations.
GR Supra 2024 45th Anniversary Edition will come with two fresher colors, namely Mikan Blast or Absolute Zero. Because this car was launched as a special edition, the Japanese manufacturer only presented 900 units.
Little history, starting with the name Toyota Celica Supra, the first generation, namely MkI, this car is positioned as a luxury sports car owned by Toyota. MkI has a 2.6 liter 6-line engine that can produce 110 dk with automatic and manual transmission.
Then, the next generation Supra comes with the name MKII with a redesigned appearance with a longer dimension and displays a closed front light with a stiff design.
Toyota finally got rid of the name "Jelica" in 1986 with the third generation of Supra, MKII, which has a look not much different from MkiI, but is upgraded to a 6-cylinder engine that produces 200 dk.
Supra's golden age is in the fourth generation, MkIV with a new look and a new 2JZ-GTE 6-line engine that can generate a peak power of 320 dk. MkIV is the first Toyota car to deliver six accelerations.
Long story short, the fifth generation was born, MkV in 2019 with a design inspired by the previous generation Supra and the 1967 Toyota 2000GT. Then, Toyota presented the GR Supra under the label "Gazoo Racing" with high performance.
