NAGAN RAYA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh noted that the area of land that had been burned in the area as of Wednesday (21/6) night had reached 18.5 hectares.
"One of the causes of the expansion of land fires because they are influenced by the wind, and the burning land is peatland," said Head of BPBD Nagan Raya, Aceh Province, Irfanda Rinadi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.
He said that the land, which is currently still on fire and has not been successfully extinguished, is located in Suak Puntong Village, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Regency.
The area of land burned in the area is estimated at four hectares.
Efforts to extinguish land fires that occurred in a number of areas in Nagan Raya Regency were also caused by the lack of water sources around the fire site, so that extinguishing efforts became hampered.
