Yura Yunita Re-singe Look Closer To The 23-Year-Old Gift Special "Sherina Adventure"

JAKARTA - Singer Yura Yunita presented a birthday present in commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of the film "Petualan Sherina" by re-singing (remake) the song Look Closer which was officially released on Wednesday.

Yura's version of the song Look Closer can be enjoyed through various audio streaming platforms. While the music video is planned to be released on Monday (19/6). The release of Yura's version of the song is under the umbrella of the Trinity Optima Production record label.

Trinity Entertainment Network founder and CEO Yonathan Nugroho thinks that Yura is the singer who feels it is appropriate to bring her back. Look Closer to the more mature version of the meaning but still relevant today.

"At that time Yura as one of the candidates (to bring Look Closer) because we know Yura is very phenomenal and very popular with young people today. And after we listened to the lyrics, they are still very relevant to life now," said Yonathan as quoted by Antara, Thursday.

"So we are happy to try to approach Yura to work together and make this a special gift. And we can see for ourselves, I am very grateful that the results are extraordinary," added Yonathan.

For Yura, the song Look Closer to the soundtrack for the family musical film has a special place in her heart. When she was young, Yura also often watched Sherina's "Tourism" through VCD.

"When we hear about it again after I became an adult now, the meaning is very deep. If we want to learn to take a closer look, we will be wiser in interpreting whatever we are currently experiencing," said Yura.

The song Look Closer for the first time performed by Sherina Munaf with Ucie Nurul in the film "Petualan Sherina" (2000). This song appears in the scene when Sherina feels sad because she has to leave her friends to move to Bandung.

Look Closer is one of the songs composed by the late Elfa Secioria. The legendary musician, who is also a music arranger for the film "Petualan Sherina", created a melody and musical arrangement. While the lyrics of the song were written by Mira Lesmana.

Hearing the song sung by Yura again, Mira admitted that she was increasingly longing for Elfa considering that at that time the process was very fun.

"So remember the process of making it, singing the song brings a very deep memory," he said.

"And it turned out that when I heard Yura sing this, like she said, the meaning suddenly changed for an adult to sing it, it also had more meaning," added Mira.

Director Riri Riza views that the song "Get Closer" still has extraordinary strength when it is being heard again at this time. Agreeing with Riri, Sherina added that the song does have timeless strength and can reach listeners from various ages.

"And I am very happy, Yura also has a special moment about this song. Earlier he also told me, remember the days when he was a child. So for me, I am happy (this song) was sung by fellow artists who also love meaning and have a special meaning for him," said Sherina.
