238 Bakal Caleg Di Pidie Aceh Gagal Tes Baca Al-Qur'an

BANDA ACEH - The Independent Election Commission (KIP) of Pidie Regency recorded that 238 candidates for legislative members (Babileg) failed to take the Qur'an reading test as a stage to participate in the 2024 General Election.

"Of the 801 baulaleg in Pidie, 305 people were not present during the Al-Qur'an reading test at the Sigli City Alfalah Mosque on June 6'10, 2023," said KIP Chairperson Pidie Fuadi Yusufdilansir ANTARA, Tuesday, June 13.

During the extension of the Al-Qur'an test capable on June 11 and 12, 2023 at the local KIP office, 67 people were finally able to follow it, and the remaining 238 were declared present.

Of the 801 baulaleg registered by 21 political parties in Pidie, he said, only 563 could take part in this stage.

Of the number of Babileg present, one person was declared dead after taking the test because he was declared unable to read the Qur'an.

"Babileg, who cannot read the Qur'an, is a woman," he said without mentioning the name of the leg concerned.

Fuadi said that in Pidie there were also three baulaleg who took the test test being able to read the Qur'an virtually via video call. This is because they are carrying out the pilgrimage and one is in Brunai Darussalam.

"For the fallen leg, KIP gave its July 26' 9 period of repair," said Fuadi Yusuf.
