Semarang Airport Implements New Air Travel Rules For Endemic Transition, Passengers May Not Wear Masks If Healthy
The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has issued the latest travel regulations using air transportation during the transition period of the COVID-19 endemic.
General Ahmad Yani International Airport is one of the airports of PT Angkasa Pura I which has begun to implement the regulation.
"The new travel regulations based on the Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 1 of 2023 and the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number SE 16 of 2023 are effective from June 9, 2023," said General Manager of International Airport General Ahmad Yani Hardi Ariyanto in Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday, June 13, quoted by Antara.
He added, in the SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 16 of 2023 it was stated that domestic travelers (PPDN) by air must follow the existing provisions.
These provisions include, among others, it is recommended to continue to vaccinate against COVID-19 until the second booster or fourth dose, especially for people who have a high risk of transmitting COVID-19.

Then, it is permissible not to wear a mask if you are in good health and are not at risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19 and it is recommended to continue to wear a mask that is properly closed if you are unwell or at risk of COVID-19, before and during trips and activities in public facilities.
"It is recommended to continue to use the One Sehat application to monitor personal health," he said.
According to him, this latest travel rule has also been implemented at 15 airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura I.
